We are setting up for the Wildcat Throwdown at GVMS gym. Come out to pitch and support the wildcats. All proceeds will go to paying for field trips for the students next year! You can register here at the gym. Doors open at 10. Doubles tournament will start at 11 with the singles to follow.


Dr. Porter and Mr. Bragg held a small group math session today. Next week GVMS students will begin their WVGSA (State Testing). Our testing schedule will be staggered from May 8-18. It is very important all students attend during their testing days.

Guyan Valley Middle School’s after school and athletics are cancelled for this afternoon.

Due to pending weather forecast and safety concerns, Lincoln County Schools will be releasing students on a 2 hours early release, today, March 3rd, 2023. Guyan Valley Middle School will dismiss at 12:30 pm.

This is a reminder that Monday, February 20, is a professional learning day. Students will not report.

Guyan Valley Middle School will be conducting an active threat drill tomorrow around 9:20. These drills are important in maintaining school safety, and Lincoln County Schools is committed to maintaining the safety of students and staff.

Guyan Valley Middle School students will not report tomorrow, Tuesday, January 17th, due to lack of heat. Staff will report at normal time.

Guyan Valley after school tutoring will be canceled today due to a power outage.

Guyan Valley Middle School is currently experiencing a power outage. All students are being moved to the gym where we still have electricity. If you are picking a student up, please pick them up from the gym. Teachers will be there with a sign out sheet.

Guyan Valley Middle School is currently experiencing periodic phone outages. If you are trying to call the school without success, it is due to this issue that we are aware of and trying to remedy. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.

GVMS currently does not have electricity in most of our building. The gym does have electricity and that is where our students are. Our phone systems, at GVMS, do not work without electricity. If you are picking your kids up early, please go to the gym. A teacher is stationed there with the sign out form.

We would like to inform parents and guardians that state police have investigated the suspicious activity and the precautionary stay in place has been lifted. All students are safe and our day will resume as normal. Thank you for your understanding.
